I often see or hear stuff like "actually that dish came from a different culture, it's not yours".

And irritates me a lot because a lot of traditional food is similar. Like, how many dishes there are that are just dough and meat cooked together in whatever shape and proportions?

I just think that one dish can be a part of multiple cultures. Like, who cares where Borcht actually came from, it's still a part of multiple slavic cultures, and wherever it came from, it's not an achievement of any modern person, because the recipe was made and redacted by multiple people through hundreds of years.

Just a random thought I had, but that's more of my negative attitude towards nationalism and toxic patriotism, because I don't like when people take or give responsobility for something someone else did that they had no effect on or control over, simply because the act was commited by a person from their motherland.
